FOSS

For anyone who isn't aware, FOSS stands for Friends of Starbeck School - which hopefully includes you if you are reading this!

The FOSS team are a group of parents and staff who meet together to plan and organise fundraising events such as the Christmas Fayre, share ideas on how the money can be used and generally offer practical help in supporting the school throughout the year, for example in serving refreshments at sports day or school performances.

Anyone who is involved in the school community in any way can count themselves as a 'Friend of Starbeck School', but actually making a positive contribution to the life of the school is a great way to show your support both for the staff and the children.  When parents and families get involved in activities and events, our children especially feel really supported and it encourages them to have a real pride in their school.  We know there are many talented, creative, energetic, clever parents out there and by contributing even small amounts of time, talent or enthusiasm, you can help make a big difference.

We realise that this time will not be convenient for everyone and we are willing to change the meeting times if it suits more of you.  However, you don't have to attend the meetings in order to help at events.  We will keep you informed of any plans and requests for support and minutes of the meetings are always shared with everyone.  You can contact us through the school office if you have suggestions, ideas or questions - we would love to hear from you.

The FOSS team are a really friendly bunch who enjoys doing what they can to encourage and support this school which gives so much to our children.  So come along and do your bit!

Best wishes from

The FOSS Team
