Description:

We would like to appoint a confident, effective and highly-motivated person who will make a positive contribution to the team and our children.

The role involves:

  • Supervising the lunch hall, playground area, playing field, cloakrooms and classrooms etc during the lunchtime break.
  • Assisting with the removal of food and equipment once pupils have eaten their lunch.
  • Dealing with minor first aid incidents; following appropriate procedures for recording and reporting.
  • Assisting in the implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies as required.

Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic person with excellent communication skills to lead our established Breakfast Club. The Play Leader will have a high level of initiative and independence and lead on the provision of extended care. The Play Leader line-manages the play worker and reports to the Headteacher, communicating with senior leadership team on the progress of the club. The Play Leader will be responsible for promoting the club and contributing to the creation of any club policies and procedure together with reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Headteacher/appropriate person.

The core focus of this job is to ensure the provision of high quality out of hours school provision for children, within a positive, safe & happy environment. The post holder will do this by organising and providing an appropriate range of activities and food. They will take a lead role in running the club including:

  • Maintaining a register of children
  • Preparing & providing healthy snacks/refreshments for the children following food hygiene practices, and cleaning up afterwards
  • Preparing and setting up rooms
  • Administering basic first aid as required
  • Undertaking the personal care of children as required; including toileting, dressing, sickness
  • Ensuring the children and young persons are supervised at all times
  • Contributing to the development of club policies, procedures, aims and objectives
  • Promoting the club by creating promotional displays
