We are always in the mood for good food!
We are Aspens Services, a market leading contract catering company and we specialise in school food.
We only work in the education sector so we know what our customers want. Mixing this knowledge with an understanding of what’s hot in the food world sparks creativity and excitement in our chefs. Our kitchens provide delicious home cooked food each day and cater for individual dietary requirements.
We don’t just provide food, we play our part to educate children and raise awareness about nutrition, food and where it comes from, so that they can make informed and mindful choices. Feeding our future. Please see more at www.aspens-services.co.uk
|Schools are the ideal place for children to start their food adventures so it’s the best time to encourage healthy food habits.|
We make sure that our Food Festival menus are packed with comfort dishes and, at the same time, we help pupils to take their first steps with new tastes to explore. We make the most of fruit and vegetables that are in season, because that’s when they taste best and are the most planet friendly too.
Food Festival Menu
The menu rotates on a three-week basis and refreshes for Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer seasons. Here’s the current menu:
Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently entitled to receive UNIVERSAL FREE SCHOOL MEALS! We think it’s a fantastic idea so please make sure that you support this initiative. Not only will you be saving money but you will also be giving your child a nutritionally balanced meal to fuel their bodies for the rest of the learning day.
Please note that this is not to be confused with FREE SCHOOL MEALS that you may be entitled to for children in any year.
If you think you may be entitled to free school meals you should make an application to the local education authority:
School Meals and Packed Lunches
The cost of a paid school meal is currently £2.50 per day, or £12.50 per week.
School meals should be requested at the beginning of each half-term. Children do not have to have a school meal every day, but please let us know in advance which days they will require a meal.
Money for school meals needs to be paid in advance and can be paid via ParentPay. If you do not have a ParentPay log-in, please contact the school office. Alternatively, you can pay by cash/cheque in an envelope with your child's name and class clearly marked.
Credits for dinners paid for and not taken will be carried forward to the following week.
Whilst we encourage all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children to take a free school meal, children from all year groups children may bring a packed lunch, which is eaten in the canteen.
As a healthy school we encourage healthy packed lunches that should not contain sweets or fizzy drinks. Any drinks must be sent in suitable containers, preferably made of plastic, with screw tops so that unfinished drink can be taken home. For safety, no glass or fragile containers please. Water is available for all children in the canteen.
Special diets are an integral part of our catering provision, whether as a result of an ethical or religious belief or a food intolerance or allergy. To register this as a requirement please complete and return the special diets form to the school as soon as possible.
