Welcome to the website of Starbeck Primary Academy.
Founded in the late 1800’s the school is steeped in community history and continues to be at the heart of the Starbeck Community. With two attractive Victorian building and extensive green outdoor areas, we are blessed with wonderful learning environments for our children to begin their education and school-life. We are a good school with cores strengths in personal development, & well-being, music, sport and SEND.
As part of Northern Star Academies Trust, a high-performing multi-academy trust with schools in Harrogate, Skipton and Keighley, we have access to a range of expertise and educational support, including a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Centre, Maths and English Hubs and school to school support functions.
At Starbeck Primary Academy our vision is a simple yet powerful one:
Include, Inspire, Achieve.
We aim to provide our children with memorable and powerful learning experiences and promote an ethos of self-belief, respect, resilience and high expectations for ourselves and others in everything we learn and achieve. We value every child as an individual and believe that learning should be purposeful and challenging.
The primary intention of our curriculum is in line with our school vision - Include, Inspire and Achieve. Development of key learning behaviours is the core of all learning to ensure that learning is deep and embedded. Specific teaching of key aspects of learning – empathy, managing feelings, self-confidence, motivation and social skills underpin all learning. We ensure that learning is based around engaging and fun topics and themes and in addition to class-based learning, we ensure that there is a whole school entitlement for all children to learn outside the classroom.
‘The school’s work around personal development and well-being is outstanding’ (OFSTED 2019)
‘Leadership at all levels is effective. High-quality training has empowered leaders to have an accurate understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of their respective areas.’ (OFSTED 2019)
You will find a wealth of information within our website however should you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to our school then please do contact us and we will be happy to help.
