5th January 2021
Dear Parents & Carers,
Following the government announcement last night, you will be aware that all schools must close initially until February half term and move to remote learning. We are clearly disappointed however we understand that the new, more contagious strand of Covid-19 is being spread quickly and the government feels that it is currently not safe for schools to be open and risk spreading the virus further.
Remote learning will begin from today for children. All teachers will be setting work via the relevant on-line platform as previously explained in our Starbeck Remote Learning plan, which can be found on the following link:
Teachers will initially be setting a more straight forward task for today to help children get started and will also be making phone calls over the coming days to talk to children and parents. After today, daily learning will be set for core and foundation subjects. If you have any problems with this, please speak to the teacher when they call or contact school and we will call you back.
For those families who told us that they would prefer learning packs, these are being prepared today and we will deliver them to your homes as soon as possible.
Provision for children of Critical Workers
If you are classed as a critical worker and you do not have other options for childcare during the week or some days of the week, please contact the school today to have a discussion with myself or Mrs Pitts about the options for provision and your requirements. We will be making contact today with some families directly where children fall into a vulnerable category. As always, we are here to help – please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
